TruckLowering Kits
A proper truck drop is suspension engineering — not just removing components. We install drop kits from Belltech, McGaughys, DJM, and MaxTrac using lowering spindles, dropped control arms, flip kits, and adjustable shocks to bring your truck closer to the pavement while maintaining safe suspension geometry and ride quality.
Drop Options
We engineer every drop to maintain safe suspension geometry, proper bump-stop clearance, and good ride quality — not just slam the truck to the ground.
Mild Drop (2/4)
Lowering spindles (front) and a flip kit (rear) for a clean, lowered stance without major suspension changes. Maintains factory spring rate and shock valving. The most popular option for daily-driven trucks in Dallas-Fort Worth.
Moderate Drop (3/5 – 4/6)
Spindles or lowering coils in front, flip kit with lowered shocks in rear. Requires bump-stop relocation and may need brake line extensions. This range delivers a seriously slammed look while preserving usable suspension travel.
Extreme Drop (5/7+)
Full kit with C-notched frame for maximum drop without axle contact. Dropped control arms, lowering spindles, flip kit, re-valved shocks, and brake line modifications. For show trucks and drag trucks where ground clearance is secondary.
The Metroplex Advantage
Why Choose
Metroplex?
Lowering a truck improperly leads to bottoming out, axle-to-frame contact, and premature wear. We engineer every drop with proper C-notching, bump-stop relocation, and shock valving so your truck rides smooth on Dallas-Fort Worth roads — not just looks good parked.
Proper C-Notch on Extreme Drops
Drops over 4" in the rear require a C-notch to prevent the rear axle from contacting the frame during compression. We install bolt-in or weld-in C-notch kits on every extreme drop for safe, full-travel suspension.
Belltech, McGaughys, DJM & MaxTrac
We install kits from brands that specialize in truck lowering — not universal springs. Belltech's Street Performance kits and McGaughys' drop systems are engineered for your specific truck platform.
Ride Quality Matters
We replace factory shocks with model-specific lowered shocks (Belltech Nitro Drop 2, KYB Gas-a-Just) valved for the new ride height. Reusing stock shocks on a lowered truck causes harsh ride and premature shock failure.

C-notching isn't optional on drops over 4" — it's a safety requirement. Without it, the rear axle slams into the frame on every hard bump, pothole, or railroad crossing. In Dallas-Fort Worth, where I-35 construction zones have steel plates and 2" lip transitions, you'll make contact daily. The impact damages your fuel lines, brake lines, and eventually the frame itself. We C-notch every extreme drop — no exceptions.
The Process
Drop Planning
We discuss your desired stance, wheel/tire setup, and daily driving needs. We spec the right kit for your truck's platform and drop height.
Component Sourcing

Expert Installation
Spindles, flip kit, C-notch, bump-stop relocation, and shock installation — everything torqued to spec with clearances verified.
Alignment & Road Test
Full 4-wheel alignment, bump-travel testing, and extended road test to verify ride quality and clearances before delivery.
Avoid These Pitfalls
Common Mistakes We Fix
We frequently correct dropped trucks that were lowered incorrectly. Here are the issues we see most.
No C-Notch on Extreme Drops
Drops over 4" without a C-notch cause the rear axle to contact the frame on every bump. This damages brake lines, fuel lines, and eventually cracks the frame. We C-notch every extreme drop.
Reusing Factory Shocks
Factory shocks are valved for stock ride height. On a lowered truck, they bottom out prematurely, causing a harsh, bouncy ride. We install model-specific lowered shocks designed for the new ride height.
Removing Coils Instead of Using Proper Kit
Cutting or removing coil springs to lower a truck is dangerous — it eliminates spring pressure and causes unpredictable handling. We use only purpose-built lowering components designed for your truck.
Skipping Bump-Stop Relocation
At lowered ride height, your factory bump stops may not engage before the axle contacts the frame. We relocate or replace bump stops on every drop to maintain proper compression limits.
