PrecisionDrop Kits

We engineer precision static drops and coilover conversions in our Irving bay — lowering your center of gravity while calculating exact damper stroke to maintain travel over rough Dallas-Fort Worth pavement. Progressive spring rates, negative camber correction, and full-contact-patch geometry so your car handles better dropped than it did at stock height.

Drop Kit Tiers

Every build starts with a baseline geometry audit — not a one-size-fits-all spring swap. We spec the right tier for your chassis.

Progressive Static Drop

Cold-wound progressive-rate lowering springs (Eibach Pro-Kit or H&R Sport) on your factory struts. We measure piston stroke at the new ride height and trim bump stops to retain minimum 2.0" of compression travel. The entry point for a clean drop without replacing your entire suspension.

Matched Drop & Camber Correction

Progressive springs paired with shortened monotube dampers (Bilstein B8s) valved for reduced stroke. Includes SPC adjustable control arms or eccentric bolts to correct negative camber for daily-driven enthusiast cars.

Full Coilover Conversion & Corner Balance

Fully threaded coilovers (KW Variant 3 or BC Racing BR) with independent height and damping adjustment. Includes chassis-specific spring rates, spherical camber plates, and four-wheel corner balancing for equalized weight distribution.

The Metroplex Advantage

Why Choose
Metroplex?

Lowering a car alters your roll center and bushing geometry. We engineer the entire kinematic chain so your chassis handles better, wears tires evenly, and rides smooth over Dallas-Fort Worth pavement.

Static-Load Bushing Clocking

We torque all suspension pivot bolts at full curb weight on our alignment rack, never while hanging on a lift. This prevents torsional preload that cracks bushings prematurely in Texas heat.

Hunter HawkEye Elite Alignment

Our in-house Hunter HawkEye Elite measures geometry to the hundredth of a degree. We adjust camber and tie rods to neutralize negative camber and eliminate bump steer.

Thread Prep & Anti-Seize Protocol

We replace factory hardware with Grade 8/10.9 fasteners coated in Permatex Copper Anti-Seize. Coilover collars receive Boeshield T-9 to prevent galvanic corrosion from Texas soil.

Pro Tip from the Shop

On drops exceeding 1.5 inches, extended ball joints or bump-steer kits are often required to prevent violent tramlining. We assess every chassis's kinematics before installation.

The Process

01

Geometry Audit & Teardown

Measure factory ride height at all four corners, extract factory struts/assemblies using Branick spring compressors, and dissolve seized hardware with Kano Kroil penetrant.

02

Component Prep & Mock-Up

Bench-set coilover preload with digital calipers for matched left-to-right geometry. Static drop springs indexed to shortened dampers. All pivot points left finger-tight for static-load torquing.

03

Static-Load Torquing

Vehicle lowered onto alignment slip plates at full curb weight. All pivot hardware torqued to exact OEM specs with calibrated Snap-on wrenches — zero bushing bind.

04

Alignment & Road Test

Full Hunter HawkEye Elite custom alignment to eliminate negative camber, followed by road testing over rough pavement near our Irving bay to verify damper recovery and ride quality.

Avoid These Pitfalls

Common Mistakes We Fix

We regularly correct cars that were dropped incorrectly by other shops or DIY installs. These are the failures that roll into our Irving bay most often.

Thermal Spring Shortening (Torch Cutting)

Torch-heating factory springs destroys the steel's temper, creating dead coils prone to snapping under load. We only install purpose-built progressive-rate springs from Eibach, H&R, or equivalent.

Neglecting Bump Stops & Piston Travel

Drop springs on full-length factory struts force the piston to bottom out — one hard pothole blows the nitrogen seals. We measure piston stroke and trim bump stops on every build.

Ignoring Induced Negative Camber

Uncorrected negative camber from a drop eats through tire inner edges in under 5,000 miles and increases hydroplaning risk. We install adjustable control arms or offset bushings to restore full-width contact.

Torquing Bolts on the Lift — Not at Ride Height

Bolts torqued on the lift lock torsional preload into bushings — they crack within months in Dallas-Fort Worth heat. We torque everything at full curb weight on the alignment rack.

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Lowering springs (Eibach Pro-Kit, H&R Sport) replace your factory coil springs with shorter, stiffer units — they use your existing struts and provide a fixed, non-adjustable drop of typically 1.0–2.0 inches. Coilovers (KW, BC Racing, Fortune Auto) are a fully threaded spring-and-damper assembly that replaces both the spring and the strut — they provide infinite ride height adjustment and multi-stage damping control. Coilovers are the premium option for drivers who want precise tuning capability.

For Dallas-Fort Worth daily driving, we typically recommend 1.0–1.5 inches of drop on lowering springs or coilovers set to a moderate height. This range delivers a noticeably improved stance and lower center of gravity without sacrificing bump absorption over potholes and I-35 construction zones. Drops beyond 2.0 inches on a daily driver require shortened dampers and bump-stop modification to maintain livable ride quality.

Absolutely — every drop kit changes your camber, caster, and toe angles. Skipping alignment after a drop is the fastest way to destroy a set of tires. We include a full four-wheel alignment on our Hunter HawkEye Elite system with every drop kit installation — it's not an add-on, it's a required step in our process.

Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a dealer cannot void your entire vehicle warranty for aftermarket suspension modifications. They can only deny coverage for components directly affected by the modification — and they must prove the modification caused the failure. We document every installation with torque specs and alignment printouts that provide a paper trail if a warranty claim is ever disputed.

Factory shocks are internally valved for factory ride height — when you lower the car, the shock piston operates in a compressed range it wasn't designed for. This causes premature wear, harsh ride, and eventual hydraulic seal failure. Our Tier 2 (Matched Drop) pairs lowering springs with shortened-body monotube dampers (Bilstein B8) that are specifically valved for reduced stroke operation.

Corner balancing uses Intercomp digital scales under each tire to measure and equalize the weight distribution across all four corners of the vehicle. It's mandatory for coilover conversions where independent height adjustment is available — without it, your car may handle unpredictably because uneven weight distribution creates inconsistent grip levels. We include a full corner balance with every Tier 3 coilover conversion.
