Air RideSuspension Systems

Air suspension replaces fixed-height coil springs with air bags that inflate and deflate to any ride height at the touch of a button. We install complete Air Lift Performance 3P/3H and AccuAir e-Level systems — the two industry standards — with proper hardline routing, tank mounting, and management calibration for daily reliability on Dallas-Fort Worth streets.

Air Suspension Platforms

Two management platforms dominate the market — Air Lift Performance and AccuAir. Both are excellent; the choice comes down to your budget and control preferences.

Air Lift 3P (Pressure-Based)

The entry point for quality air suspension. The 3P controller uses pressure sensors to manage ride height via your phone app. Set three saved presets (drive, show, park) and switch between them instantly. Bluetooth phone control included.

Air Lift 3H (Height-Sensing)

The premium Air Lift system with height sensors at each corner. The 3H maintains exact ride heights regardless of passenger or cargo load — the system measures actual height, not just pressure. Essential for cars that carry variable loads.

AccuAir e-Level

The show car and Euro car standard. Height-sensing management with the ENDO-VT compressor (twice as fast as standard compressors). TouchPad controller with preset memory. The system of choice for VW/Audi/BMW show builds.

The Metroplex Advantage

Why Choose
Metroplex?

Air suspension is the most complex aftermarket suspension install — it combines pneumatics, electronics, and mechanical suspension work. We route DOT-rated hardlines (not nylon tubing), mount tanks securely to the chassis, wire compressors with proper relays and fuses, and calibrate the management system for safe pressure limits.

Stainless Steel Hardlines

We route stainless steel or DOT-rated PTFE hardlines — not the nylon tubing that cracks in Dallas-Fort Worth heat cycles. Properly routed lines away from heat sources and moving components for long-term reliability.

Secure Tank & Compressor Mounting

We bolt tanks to the chassis with proper brackets — not sitting loose in the trunk. Compressors are mounted on vibration-isolating pads with clean wiring, inline fuses, and relay-controlled circuits. Professional, not cobbled.

Calibrated Management Systems

We calibrate minimum and maximum pressures, set safe deadband ranges, and configure bag-out protection to prevent over-inflation or riding on a deflated bag. We also set your three drive presets before delivery.

Pro Tip from the Shop

Nylon air line is the single most common failure point in air suspension — and it's 100% avoidable. Nylon becomes brittle in Dallas-Fort Worth heat cycles, especially where it passes near exhaust components or runs through engine bays. One cracked line dumps the entire system, and your car drops to the bump stops at highway speed. We use DOT-rated stainless or PTFE hardlines exclusively because a $50 material upgrade eliminates the #1 reliability concern in air suspension.

The Process

01

System Design

We discuss your goals, select the right management platform (3P, 3H, or e-Level), and plan trunk/cargo layout for tank and compressor placement.

02

Mechanical Install

Remove factory suspension and install air struts. Mount tank, compressor, and manifold block with secure brackets and vibration-isolating pads.

03

Hardline & Wiring

Route DOT-rated hardlines from manifold to each strut, away from heat and moving components. Wire compressor with relay, inline fuse, and clean ground.

04

Calibration & Delivery

Calibrate management system, set pressure limits, configure three drive presets, test leak-down overnight, and align before delivery.

Avoid These Pitfalls

Common Mistakes We Fix

Air suspension done wrong is unreliable and potentially dangerous. These are the issues we correct most often.

Nylon Tubing That Cracks in Heat

Nylon air lines become brittle in Dallas-Fort Worth heat, cracking near exhaust components or in engine bays. A cracked line dumps the system, dropping your car to bump stops at speed. We use DOT-rated stainless or PTFE exclusively.

Loose Tank in Trunk

A 30-lb air tank sitting loose in a trunk becomes a projectile in a collision. We bolt every tank to the chassis or sub-frame with proper brackets — secure, professional, and safe.

No Bag-Out Protection

Without minimum pressure limits, driving on a deflated bag causes the bag to fold over itself and fail. We calibrate minimum pressure settings (typically 20 PSI) as a safety floor the system won't go below while driving.

Missing Relay on Compressor Wiring

Running a compressor directly off a switch without a relay overloads the switch and wiring, creating a fire risk. We wire every compressor through a proper relay circuit with inline fuse protection.

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

When installed properly with quality components (Air Lift Performance, AccuAir), DOT-rated hardlines, and correct management calibration — yes, air suspension is reliable for daily driving. The key is professional installation with proper line routing, secure mounting, and calibrated pressure limits.

3P uses pressure sensors to manage ride height. 3H adds height sensors at each corner, so it measures actual ride height instead of just bag pressure. 3H automatically compensates for passenger and cargo weight — if you add a passenger, the system inflates to maintain the same height. 3P would ride lower under the extra weight.

Yes — that's the primary advantage of air suspension. You can save three presets (drive height, show/slammed, and a raised clearance height) and switch between them in seconds. Most systems reach full height change in 2–3 seconds.

A complete air suspension installation (struts, management, tank, compressor, hardlines, wiring, and calibration) typically takes 1–2 days depending on vehicle complexity. This includes overnight leak-down testing and alignment.

Under Magnuson-Moss, a dealer can only deny warranty coverage if the modification directly caused the failure. A properly installed air suspension system shouldn't affect unrelated warranty claims. We document our installations thoroughly for your records.
